 Joseph Beuys
«Beuys und Wolfgang Feelisch»

Joseph Beuys signing copies of ‘Intuition’ in 1972, together with Wolfgang Feelisch, who published the multiple. Beuys had just been dismissed as Professor of Sculpture at the Staatliche Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf, because he had taken on as secretaries would-be students the academy had turned down. Beuys responded by resuming his classes in front of the academy building, and with his ‘Intuition’ boxes continued to disseminate his plea for a new function of art outside the institutional context.
