«Sculpture Vivante»

In the early 1960s, in the context of the Fluxus Group the Happening was staged as a form of a neo-Dadaist opposition to the established art market. With his humorous, self-staging acts and his spatial paintings, Ben Vautier consistently belonged to the core of this group. Like with his self-referring sentences and statements, his «Living Sculpture» points toward the effects of an ingenious concept of art on the general public up until today as much as it does to the operating system of art, which also includes self-marketing.
