 Peter Weibel
«Time Blood»

All of Weibel’s early actions were marked by the intention of demolishing the illusory character of television. In a literally bloody ritual filmed during a broadcast by ORF television in 1979, Weibel demonstrated how the medium creates remoteness from physical reality. He had blood taken from his arm in the studio, and channelled the flow through two panes of glass positioned in front of the camera in such a way that viewers could watch as the level of blood slowly rose on their screens. By the end, the screen shows only blood.
