«What you get is what you see»
In the interactive video sculpture 'What you get is what you see' a tin plate with a slit in it labelled coin slot invites viewers to participate actively.
The sculpture works on a similar principle to amusement and gaming machines. This machine achieves its element of surprise by reducing the principle of the value of money and its equivalence to the limit and taking it to absurd lengths. Viewers get nothing for their money other than the fall of the coin itself. About seven seconds after the coin goes in, the monitor above the slot shows it falling on to the others, which were visible before, and then lying there among the topmost ones.
