 Ingo Günther

b 1957 in Bad Eilsen; 1977 studied ethnology and cultural anthropology at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt/M.; 1978-83 studied painting, studio and video at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf; master-class student under Nam June Paik; 1979 first video works; subsequently worked on a number of media projects, frequently in relation to global and political questions; 1990 co-founder of the Leipzig station «Kanal X»; 1990-94 taught at the Kunsthochschule für Medien, Cologne; lives and works in New York (USA).
