 Giselle Beiguelman

Born in Sâo Paulo (BR) in 1962; lives in Sâo Paulo; PhD in History from the University of Sâo Paulo and former fellow of the VITAE Foundation. She is a new media artist and multimedia essayist who teaches Digital Culture at the Graduation Program in Communication and Semiotics of PUC-SP (São Paulo). Her work includes the award-winnings «The Book after the Book» (1999), a hypertextual and visual essay, where criticism and web art melts into the context of the ‹net_(reading/writing)_condition.› She has developed art projects for mobile phones, «Wop Art» (2001), the Web, SMS, MMS, and Internet-streaming for electronic billboards «egoscópio» (2002), «Poétrica» (2003) and «esc for escape» (2004).
