 Alphonse Bertillon

Alphonse Bertillon (1853 – 1914), French criminologist and anthropologist. In 1880, Bertillon was chief of staff of the Records Department of the Paris Police, where he introduced an anthropometric process for identifying criminal offenders, later named after him, Bertillonage.
